This spectacular view is from the summit of the Matterhorn (4478m - looking ESE). The climber is just coming over the top of the summit ridge. In the background is the Monte Rosa massif, with the highest summit in Switzerland (4634m). We're on the summit at a good time of day, about 8:00 am. It's a long way down...
