Skiers on the flanks of Monte Rosa looking towards the Matterhorn

Ski-mountaineers are attracted to magnificent touring opportunities around Zermatt each spring. Here a party climbs the flanks of Monte Rosa - the highest peak in Switzerland (4634m). The mountains seen here include - from left to right - Dent d'Hérens (4171m), Matterhorn (4478m), Dent Blanche (4357m), and Ober Gabelhorn (4063m).
